Brett Morrison

Brett MorrisonBrett Morrison was born and raised in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and has been here off and on since 1961. Brett Graduated with an eclectic group of friends in 1979 that were often pioneers for this area. From taking the banana seats off of our Stingrays and making BMX bikes out of them with knobby tires, to building the first halfpipe between St. Louis and Los Angeles for skateboarding. Brett was also among a group of friends that were the first to Snowboard in Colorado, hiking up the mountains around with Steve Katers. Brett's family spent a couple weeks a summer at Lake Powell as it was filling up, and winter vacations in San Carlos, Mexico.

Through high school and before college Brett and some of his friends worked for his father at a cinder block factory, Dotsero Block. At the end of his tenure there he was an over-the-road trucker.
In 1982 Brett went to college at Colorado State University. During his 10 semesters he was most noted for being captain of the rugby team. When he took over the team was on probation and close to losing it's status. Brett and his staff turned it around and ended up taking 2nd Place in the Mid America Bracket of the collegiate tournament.

Brett graduated in 1987 with a BFA in Graphic Design. Somewhat ironic is the fact that at that time the program included no computer classes. It was all freehand. After college Brett did odd jobs including paving in the summer and then did a year as a Pro Ski Patrol. The nextyear Brett began working at a screenprinting business which he bought and turned into Giraffiks in 1989. While owning Giraffiks Brett recieved the Glenwood Springs Chamber's "Top Brass Award" for business notoriety. In 1991 Brett recieved Runners World Magazine's "Race T-shirt of the year. During this time Brett spent a couple of years on the board of the "Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts". He started aquiring Mac knowledge with the help of his sister Diane. In 1996 Brett sold Giraffiks and mostly did construction jobs building strawbale houses. Built his own house with his brother-in-law in which his ex-wife, step children and son Olin, live in today. In 1998 Olin was born.

It was during this time that Brett started to sculpt more, making totem poles, carving marble and even attending "Marble Marble" twice under the tutelage of Greg Tonozzi.

In 2002 Brett and his family moved to Geneva, SW. Upon Returning Brett went to work for Blizzard Internet, where he learned PC and Internet. There he met his current business partner Rew Rixom, who with Brett started Pride In Work, April Fools Day 2006. Brett actively snowboards still and mountain bikes in the summer. Likes to golf occassionly, and spends his most valuable time with his son Olin. Back
