JavaScript is characterized as a dynamic, prototype-based language with first-class functions. implemented as an integrated component of the web browser, allowing the development of enhanced user interfaces and dynamic websites as told by Wikipedia.

So in laymans terms Javascript is an alternative to Flash to create dynamic and animated sites. This language works diectly in the browser and instead of having large files it loads everything from the site in the browser. This creates fast load times. We will use this when we can in designing your website needs and may insert certain functions to dress up your site.
